On Today in Church His-Story (Episode 15), we summarize the life and teaching of Ambrose of Milan who died on April 4, 397. Listen to learn of his arrest and confinement until he agreed to serve as bishop, his unrelenting fight against the Arians, and the instrumental role he played in Augustine’s conversion. Known as an eloquent preacher, Ambrose was also a scrappy theologian, not afraid to stand up to both Emperor and Empress.
